We must seek to be gospel-centered and gospel-saturated in and through everything we do as a church and as individuals. The gospel is our only hope. The gospel is what saved us, sustains us, and transforms us. It’s by the gospel that we are made righteous and are enabled to live the life of faith we were created to live. We can fill our church calendar and our lives with all sorts of busyness, but if we don’t have the gospel, we gain nothing. It’s not that all those other things we could be doing are bad, indeed the gospel compels us to do many things, but if we seek to do those things without the gospel, or without gospel motivation, we’re just going through the motions. The world doesn’t need our programs, it needs churches—it needs Christians who are committed to being bold and clear with the gospel.
